Bushnell Elite 6500 - Review & Options | Competition

The Bushnell Elite 6500 received a large number of positive reviews from hunters and shooters. The Elite 6500 got high marks for clarity and low light performance. Next to clarity, its ability to track accurately was praised the most. Tracking is the ability of a scope to be adjusted and move the correct distance dialed in. Reviewers of this model also were also pleased with the wide range of magnification available on these models as many who commented felt that this large magnification range made the Elite 6500 a truly versatile scope that could be used in a variety of hunting environments. Rounding out the positive comments were favorable remarks about the Bushnell Elite 6500’s good field of view, ability to hold zero, innovative push/pull turrets, and good eye relief. While not in any significant numbers there were a few complaints in the reviews, they included: a couple defective units, a stiff side focus knob, and there were mixed reviews on if the scope represented a good value for the money.

The Bushnell 6500 has a lot going for it:  a wide magnification range, 30mm tube, side focus parallax adjustment, RainGuard HD coating, and the push/pull turrets.  Sometimes scopes are so similar it is hard to decide between models as the specifications are nearly identical, this is not the case with the Bushnell Elite 6500. Unlike cheaper models from Bushnell that often receive criticism for short eye relief it looks like these models were given more and there were actually positive comments on its eye relief. Bushnell did this one right, they used the standard 30mm tube and side focus parallax adjustment that is expected on high end models, and then they did what a good optics company should; they put some new features like a huge magnification range, and push/pull turrets that aren’t available on nearly any other scopes, which sets them apart from the pack.
